Bio
Angela Maurer is a legend among marathon swimmers, with multiple palmares on the international stage: twice world champion, twice European champion, eight times national champion across three different marathon swim distances, and an inducted member of the International Marathon Swimming Hall Of Fame. Over the course of her career she has swum more than 60,000 kilometres, or 1.5 times the earth’s circumference. Her vast experience and speed in the open water will serve to tow Nicola Spirig faster than she’s ever swum over the 3.8 kilometers of a full distance triathlon swim leg and bring her closer to going Sub8.
