Emily Meakin is a multiple British national champion in closed circuit and time trial racing. In 2019, she pulled off a solo road race win off the front at Kermesse in Belgium against exceptional riders including the Belgian national champion at the time. That same year she put herself among the likes of Beryl Burton by setting the second fastest time in British history and winning the national 25-mile time trial championship, the blue ribbon event of time trialing. In 2020 she was named the all-round women’s champion after winning three golds and two silvers in the RTTC time trial championships.
The six-time Ironman Hawaii winner has calculated that the Pho3nix Sub8 Project, powered by Zwift will provide conditions for an even faster time than expected.
2022 will be a year of two seasons for Lucy Charles-Barclay. This first half aiming to defend her Ironman 70.3 world title, and then be the first to go Sub8. The second half, become the Ironman world champion in St. George and Kona, and perhaps get on the road to the Paris Olympics.
