Bio
Kristian Blummenfelt wants to win. That desire shows in how he trains (up to eight hours daily) and how he races: no holds barred, pedal to the metal. It’s how he broke the 70.3 world record by five minutes in 2018 at the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championships – then bested it by another three minutes the following year.
In 2021 the Norwegian stormed his way into the history books, becoming the first male athlete to win both Olympic and world championship titles in the same year. In November, he created more history by setting the fastest iron distance time (7:21:12) ever recorded on debut, at Ironman Cozumel. His accomplishments continued in 2022, becoming the Ironman World Champion St George on debut, and only his second Ironman.
